I have just sent out an email campaign to about 500 of my contacts, proudly announcing that I have launched my new website.
What I failed to do however, was prominently link to the website.
FAIL.
I’d been waiting patiently (well, not very patiently at all, actually) for the domain name to resolve before I sent it out, and as soon as it did, I was so over-excited and keen to tell everyone that I didn’t make the basic checks. The web address did exist in the email signature, but it’s tiny.
Haste is not a good thing when you’re sending something like this out. When it comes to sending something for a client, I check, check and check again. But not for myself. Terrible, eh? What kind of marketing consultant am I? Thumbs down for me.
